Berlin is the cheapest city in Europe for short-term stays with an average of $95 a day for individual rooms.
Deluxe Homes experts’ latest study compared the average costs of rent in 10 most searched travel destinations in Europe for short-term stay by assessing Google Search data. Focusing on short-term stays during the spring-summer season, the study evaluated daily rates for both individual rooms and entire homes. Cities were then ranked based on the affordability of individual room rentals. To provide a comprehensive view, the availability of accommodations in each city was also added, based on the data provided by booking.com.
Berlin leads the ranking of the cheapest destinations for short-term stay with the cheapest rooms on the list at just $95 on average. It also offers cheap options for an entire home at $254 a day. Although the prices are very attractive, only appx. 200 options are available for rent.
Lisbon stands 2nd on the ranking of the cheapest destinations for short-term stay, with an average of $110 a day for individual rooms. It also offers entire homes averaging at a daily rate of $245, the cheapest on the list.
The 3rd cheapest city for short-term stay is Barcelona. It is slightly more expensive than the previous two with its individual rooms priced at $118. Although the prices of individual rooms are low, the average price of entire homes is among the highests, costing more than $300.
Prague and Paris share the 4th spot on the list of the cheapest destinations for short-term stay, with $123 for individual rooms. Despite having the same price for individual rooms, the prices for entire houses are different – $312 and $351 respectively.
London, the most searched city for short-term stays, is the 6th cheapest destination for short stays with rooms at $127. London offers the highest availability for short-term apartment rentals on the list.
Dublin ranks 7th on the list of the cheapest cities for short-term stay. With rooms at $138 and entire homes priced notably higher at $498, Dublin is an exclusive destination, given the limited number of apartments.
Copenhagen ranks 8th as a cheapest destination for short-term stay. With rooms priced at $159 and entire homes at $278, it might be pricier, but it promises a unique Nordic experience unlike any other, with an exclusive offering of nearly 40 apartments.
Rome ranks 9th as the cheapest city for short-term stay, offering rooms at $165 and entire homes at $375 on average. The number of available apartments for short-term rent is nearly at the top of the list, surpassed only by London.
Amsterdam rounds up the ranking as the priciest city for short-term stay, with the most expensive individual rooms at $181. Amsterdam also offers the most expensive whole-houses at $586 and the least number of available apartments.
